Subject: Multicultural Advertising Intern Program (MAIP) - Deadline November 12, 2010

From: MRamirez@aaaa.org

Dear Educators:

You may have received an e-mail regarding the application for the 4A’s 2011 Multicultural Advertising Intern Program (MAIP) which is now available on the 4A’s website. MAIP offers an invaluable opportunity to the most promising multicultural students by providing them a chance to prove their ability in the real world through a paid 10-week summer internship at an advertising agency.

Last year, we placed 133 interns in 50 of our member agencies. Many of our MAIP interns received offers for full-time employment as a result of the extensive training and experience they gained through the program. This year, we hope to place well over 100 interns at our member advertising agencies.

Educators, like you, are the most valuable partners we look to in terms of finding qualified applicants for MAIP. We need your assistance in identifying the "best and brightest" on your campus and making them aware of this opportunity.

Attached you will find a MAIP Frequently Asked Questions information sheet. The MAIP Student application package is available on the 4A’s Web site www.aaaa.org. The application can be retrieved in the Talent Development section of the 4A’s website.

Click the internships tab or you may refer to the spotlight section on the homepage. Please share this information with your students as soon as possible. The application deadline is now November 12, 2010 (previously the deadline was in December). Students must complete the online application no later than November 12, 2010.

Thank you, in advance, for your time and assistance.

Best regards,
Mitch Ramirez

On both the corporate and agency side the public relations profession has changed dramatically over the past few years and has been impacted more than most industries by the Internet and other communication tools. Industry leaders will detail how the industry has changed, how it had remained the same and what direction it will take going forward. Speakers will extract from their own experiences and explain what role the Internet has played, how down-sized newspapers have impacted their clients’ goals and objectives and how direct to consumer opportunities have changed the ground rules. They will also explore what qualities and skills sets are necessary for beginners to be successful in the public relations career.
